Chroniclers: the story of Balthasar Russow
The pastor of Tallinn's Church of the Holy Ghost, Balthasar Russow, can with no doubt be considered to be the most famous chronicler of the XVI century Livonia, whose work became very popular already during his lifetime. Since the 1960s, chronicler's possible Estonian lineage has created a lot of discussions, even though it has not been proven.

- 1563 yr Balthasar Russow becomes the deacon of the Church of the Holy Ghost
- 1567 yr Russow becomes the pastor of the Church of the Holy Ghost.
- 1578 yr The publication of the first three editions of the chronicle

- 1970 yr Jaan Kross's novel "Between Three plagues" is published
