Scientists: the story of Friedrich Fromhold Martens
Lawyer, diplomat and jurisprudent Friedrich Fromhold Martens was one of the "founding fathers" of international law, he played an influential role in the founding of human rights. Martens, who was probably of Estonian origin, lost both his parents at an early age; he received his education in German. As a diplomat and jurisprudent, he represented Russia.
