11. September 1988

On September 11, 1988, the People's Front organized a mass event on the National Song Festival Grounds called "Eestimaa laul" ("The Song of Estonia"), attended by roughly 300,000 people. This was probably the biggest event in the history of Estonia. Also Trivimi Velliste participated the event, and he was the first one to demand the reinstatement of Estonia's autonomy before a wide audience.
