Adoption of the single currency Euro in Estonia

by fireworks and first festive transactions with cash machines, Estonia welcomed the year 2011, saying good-bye to the dear kroon and welcoming the long-expected, but still a bit strange Euro money.

After midnight, Prime Minister Andrus Ansip withdrew the first Euro note from the cash machine by the Estonia Theatre: the 20-Euro note.

The Prime Minister promised to put these first 20 Euros in a frame.
