1300

Although Russians had settled down in Estonia for short-term already in XI century, the Russian permanent settlement in Estonia can be talked about only from the beginning of the Middle Ages.

The covered markets of the Russian merchants of the Hansa cities Tallinn, Tartu and Narva were viable through the whole Middle Ages. These cities had also orthodox churches, even two in Tartu. During late Middle Ages also Russian villages were established in Alutaguse, Ida-Virumaa.
