On 3 June up to 2 July 1910 Nikolai II with his family stayed on Paldiski raid on his ship "Standart". In addition to the latter, numerous other military ships stayed then in Paldiski, including the cruiser "Aurora" which became notorious during the revolution of 1917.

Although the emperor also dealt with official receptions, most of his time was devoted to the vacation, among other things the governor visited Väike-Pakri together with children.

He also organized long walks on the mainland and boat trips. The children of the emperor participated even in the haymaking and played in the hay barn in Esplingi farm of Väike-Pakri.
