Nikolai I on military manoeuvres near Narva

In 1845 the emperor Nikolai I stayed for the last time in Estonia according to the available information when the military manoeuvres of the Russian army took place near Narva.

The emperor stayed in the city up to 24-25 July, on the second day the assault was staged to Narva which was enjoyed by the local aristocrats as a magnificent performance.
