10. June 1825

The second longer trip of Alexander I to Estonia took place in summer 1825, a little before his death. On 10-12 June he stayed in Tallinn and met with the representatives of local authorities, examined new port, inspected the bastioners and school of military orphans, also visited city prison, hospitals and Kadriorg.

The emperor was very satisfied with what he saw, especially that regarded the army, asked to give one rouble to all soldiers as a gift and made valuable gifts for the civil officials.
