2000 BC

The string ceramics culture (3000-1800 b.c.) differs from the previous eras as to material culture.

The residences were chosen based on other principles than in the earlier eras. It was no more important to live in the vicinity of the water body.

The settlement units were smaller and probably mostly dispersed farmhouses. Food was obtained from land cultivation and cattle breeding.
