Germans and Russians raid to Soontagana

to map

In the beginning of the Baltic Crusade in Estonia, Pihkva was a kind of ally of the Germans - the daughter of prince Vladimir married bishop Albert's brother.
In the end of 1210, Germans arranged a larger campaign to Läänemaa (Wiek). Latvians and Livonians were assembled, and Pihkva Russians joined in. This was a rather average pillage raid; the most important fort in Soontagana was not captured.
