The Baltic nobility, of course, did not like these changes and considered them to be damaging to their rights and financial interests. The Baltic Noble Corporations announced, that laws concerning the nobility in Livonia and Estonia could only be passed by the local Provincial Assembly and the decisions of the Swedish Diet did not bind them.
