1656

Neither Russia, nor Poland, nor Denmark were content with Swedish supremacy in the Baltic provinces and Ingeria. In addition, Karl X Gustav seized Courland, Lithuania, Eastern Prussia and a large portion of Poland in 1655. Czar Aleksei Michailovich started preparing, in secret, an assault on Sweden in the Baltics and Ingeria.
