The treaty of Brömsebro

From yet another war with the Danish in 1643-1645, Sweden emerged victorious and according to the treaty signed at Brömsebro, town on the Danish-Swedish border, the defeated party was forced to relinquish control of Saaremaa island among other areas. Thus began the Swedish era in Estonia.
