22. July 1710

Capturing Pärnu in 1617

The taking of Pärnu was tasked to Rudolph Felix Bauer, who reached the city on July 22, 1710, along with six dragoon divisions.
A plague had broken out in the city before that and eradicated most of the citizens.

Down form a thousand men to merely 120, the garrison of Pärnu surrendered on August 12, 1710. On August 15, after the successful actions of major Örnhielm, who had defected in to Russian service, the fort of Kuressaare surrendered.
